The course is suitable for anyone preparing for roles in management, in a company’s legal department, at consulting firms, or in human resources. In particular, those interested in the legal frameworks of economic processes and interdisciplinary problem-solving will find a comprehensive education in this programme for a career as a business lawyer, business consultant, or in other business-related functions.

What formal admission requirements do you need to meet?

To be admitted to the Bachelor's degree in Business Law at Hochschule Fresenius, you need one of the following qualifications:

  • General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur),
  • University of Applied Sciences entrance qualification,
  • Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, or
  • an equivalent recognised qualification according to § 54 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia.

You can also be admitted without the Abitur if you can provide proof of having passed a master craftsman examination or a comparable advanced vocational qualification. Admission is also possible with a completed vocational training of at least two years and at least three years of professional experience, combined with a successful aptitude assessment. There is no Numerus Clausus (NC). The formal requirements correspond to the standards for recognised Bachelor's degree programmes in Germany.

You should have a strong interest in economic and legal contexts and be prepared to engage with both legal texts and business analyses. Analytical thinking, careful working methods, written communication skills, and perseverance are helpful for successful study progress. Prior knowledge in law or economics is not mandatory, but openness to interdisciplinary work and the willingness to engage with complex legal issues are advantageous. Optionally, you can complete an integrated practical semester. In this case, the course extends to seven semesters with 210 ECTS credits. The start of studies is possible in the winter semester, and applications are accepted throughout the year.
