These are the requirements for the Master IT Management

With your Master's in IT Management, you could work as an IT consultant, IT project manager, or IT security manager, for example.

The IU International University offers the Master IT Management in 2 variants: the 60 ECTS variant lasts 2 semesters in full-time studies, while the 120 ECTS variant lasts 4 semesters in full-time studies.

For both variants, a first academic degree from a state-recognized or public university is required, such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Your degree should have at least a grade of "Satisfactory."

For the 60 ECTS variant, the following is additionally required:

• If your first degree is 240 ECTS and you have at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll directly in the Master's program.
• If your first degree is 210 ECTS and you have at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll directly in the Master's program in IT Management.
• If your first degree is 180 ECTS, you need to take courses totaling at least 30 ECTS and provide evidence of at least 1 year of work experience. Alternatively, you can show at least 2 years of qualified work experience.

For the 120 ECTS variant, the following is additionally required:

• You must have at least one year of qualified work experience that you gained after your undergraduate studies.
• If you don't have enough work experience yet, you can still enroll if you are working in a relevant field during your studies.

Furthermore, you can have various prior achievements recognized to shorten your study time in distance learning and save on tuition fees. For example, the university may recognize achievements from previous Master's programs. Extensive work experience in the field of IT management can also be recognized. It's best to submit your recognition application along with your application.

These are the study contents in the online study of IT Management

This Master's degree at IU includes about 8-16 modules that you will take and complete over 2-4 semesters of standard study time. Each module is worth 5-10 credits (ECTS) and concludes with an examination performance such as a term paper or an exam. In total, you will earn 60-120 credits from module to module and from semester to semester.

In the 60-ECTS variant, the full-time program is structured as follows:

In the 120-ECTS variant, the full-time program is structured as follows:

• Semester 1: IT Systems: Hardware, IT Systems: Software, Research Methodology, Instruments of Organizational Analysis, Seminar: Strategic analysis, Project: Network Topology
• Semester 2: Information and Knowledge Management, Management of IT Services and IT Architectures, Requirements Management, Seminar: Standards and Frameworks, Elective Module A
• Semester 3: IT Governance, Compliance and Law, IT Security and Data Protection, Seminar: Societal Challenges of Digitalization, Leadership, Elective Module B
• Semester 4: Master's Thesis

The flexibility of the standard study time in the distance learning program IT Management

At IU International University, in the part-time distance learning program, you can choose from 3 study models:

• In full-time study, the standard study time is 2 semesters for the 60-ECTS variant and 4 semesters for the 120-ECTS variant. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. Full-time studies in IT Management are particularly suitable for those who are not working or only work a few hours per week.
• In part-time study I, the standard study time is 3 semesters for the 60-ECTS variant and 6 semesters for the 120-ECTS variant. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. Part-time study I is suitable, for example, if you work part-time alongside your studies.
• In part-time study II, the standard study time is 4 semesters for the 60-ECTS variant and 8 semesters for the 120-ECTS variant. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. Part-time study II is particularly suitable if you are heavily involved in your profession alongside your distance learning program.

By the way, during your studies, you can also take a semester off at no additional cost.

In the Master's distance learning program IT Management at IU International University, there is no mandatory attendance - you learn continuously from home, in the library of your choice, or wherever you learn best.

Through myCampus, the online campus of IU, you also have access to additional materials, such as videos. You interact with your lecturers and fellow students, for example, in virtual live formats, such as interactive lectures.

And exams? You can take them as online exams if you prefer. An online exam can be taken around the clock once you feel adequately prepared. Alternatively, you can take the exam at one of the numerous exam centers of IU throughout Germany.
