These are the requirements for the Master IT Management

With your Master's in IT Management, you could work as an IT consultant, IT project manager, or IT security manager, for example.

The IU International University offers the Master IT Management in 2 variants: the 60 ECTS variant lasts 2 semesters in full-time studies, while the 120 ECTS variant lasts 4 semesters in full-time studies.

For both variants, a first academic degree from a state-recognized or public university is required, such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Your degree should have at least a grade of "Satisfactory."

For the 60 ECTS variant, the following is additionally required:

  • If your first degree is 240 ECTS and you have at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll directly in the Master's program.
  • If your first degree is 210 ECTS and you have at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll directly in the Master's program in IT Management.
  • If your first degree is 180 ECTS, you need to take courses totaling at least 30 ECTS and provide evidence of at least 1 year of work experience. Alternatively, you can show at least 2 years of qualified work experience.

For the 120 ECTS variant, the following is additionally required:

  • You must have at least one year of qualified work experience that you gained after your undergraduate studies.
  • If you don't have enough work experience yet, you can still enroll if you are working in a relevant field during your studies.

Furthermore, you can have various prior achievements recognized to shorten your study time in distance learning and save on tuition fees. For example, the university may recognize achievements from previous Master's programs. Extensive work experience in the field of IT management can also be recognized. It's best to submit your recognition application along with your application.

This Master's degree at IU includes about 8-16 modules that you will take and complete over 2-4 semesters of standard study time. Each module is worth 5-10 credits (ECTS) and concludes with an examination performance such as a term paper or an exam.
