These are the prerequisites for the Master's in Project Management

With your Master's in Project Management, you can work as an IT project manager, in E-commerce project management, or in research project management.

The IU International University offers the Master's in Project Management in 2 variants: the 60-ECTS variant lasts 2 semesters in full-time studies, and the 120-ECTS variant lasts 4 semesters in full-time studies.

For both variants, a first degree from a state-recognized or state university is required, such as a bachelor's or master's degree. The final grade of your degree should be at least "satisfactory."

For the 60-ECTS variant, the following is also required:

• Your first degree should have a focus on business or economics.
• If your first degree is 240 ECTS, you can enroll directly in the Master's program.
• If your first degree is 210 ECTS and you can demonstrate at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll directly in the Project Management Master's program. Alternatively, you can take IU modules totaling at least 30 ECTS.
• If your first degree is 180 ECTS, take courses totaling at least 30 ECTS and demonstrate at least 1 year of additional work experience. Alternatively, demonstrate at least 2 years of qualified work experience.

For the 120-ECTS variant, the following is required:

• Your first degree should have a focus on business or economics.
• If your first degree does not have a relevant focus, you must take a Master's access examination. If you pass, you will be enrolled in the Project Management Master's program.

Furthermore, you can have prior credits recognized to shorten your study time in distance learning and save on tuition fees. Recognized credits may include achievements from previous Master's programs. The university may also recognize extensive work experience in project management. It is best to submit your recognition request along with your application.

These are the study contents in the online study program Project Management

This Master's program at IU includes approximately 5 modules that you will take and complete over 2 semesters of standard study time. Each module is worth 5-10 credit points (ECTS) and concludes with an exam performance such as a term paper or an exam. In total, you will earn 60 credit points from module to module and from semester to semester.

In the 60-ECTS option, the full-time program is structured as follows:

• Semester 1: Project Management, Management, Requirements Management, Management of IT Projects
• Semester 2: Elective Module A, Master's Thesis

You can choose from the following exciting modules for specialization: Online Project Simulation, Business Project, Managing Change.

In the 120-ECTS option, the full-time program is structured as follows:

• Semester 1: Project Management, Management, Methodology
• Semester 2: Requirements Management, Strategic Management Seminar, Management of IT Projects, Change Management and Organizational Development, Elective Module A
• Semester 3: Managing IT Projects and Change, Digital Business Models, Management Consulting, Elective Module B
• Semester 4: Master's Thesis

For your first specialization, choose one of these study modules: Online Project Simulation, Business Project.

For your second specialization, choose one of these modules: Business Intelligence, E-Commerce, Performance-Oriented Controlling, Health Care Management A, Human Resource Management, Real Estate Management, International Accounting and Finance, Communication and Public Relations, Sales Management, Strategic Financial Management, Strategic Hotel Management, Strategic Air Travel Management, Strategic Marketing and Branding, Strategic Service Management, Strategic Tourism Management.

How flexible is the standard study time in the distance learning program Project Management

At IU International University, in the part-time distance learning program, you can choose from 3 study models:

• In the full-time program, the standard study time is 2 semesters for the 60-ECTS option and 4 semesters for the 120-ECTS option. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. The full-time Project Management program is ideal for those who are not working or working only a few hours a week.
• In part-time program I, the standard study time is 3 semesters for the 60-ECTS option and 6 semesters for the 120-ECTS option. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. Part-time program I is suitable, for example, if you work part-time alongside your studies.
• In part-time program II, the standard study time is 4 semesters for the 60-ECTS option and 8 semesters for the 120-ECTS option. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. Part-time program II is particularly suitable if you are heavily involved in work alongside your distance learning.
