Thinking Management Digitally
Digitalisation is a megatrend that is radically changing business and society: the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and platform economy are some of the drivers of this development. The Master’s degree programme Digital Management rethinks management digitally: What should a Master’s course look like today if it is to prepare students for working in a digitalised world?
Profile of the Digital Management degree programme
Three tracks: Mindset, Skills, Projects
The three tracks Mindset, Skills and Projects structure the Master’s degree. Mindset conveys content, background and a modern way of thinking for the digital age. Skills train competences and abilities, and Projects bring a real practical project into the Master’s course every semester.
Up-to-date content
How do modern business models work? How are agile teams managed? How does creativity arise? How are ideas brought into implementation? The Master’s degree programme Digital Management has the answers to questions that really matter today.
Not just listening – doing!
Theories are important – but application and connection with practice are even more so. More is learned by trying out and getting involved than by just listening.
A project every semester
The Foundation Stone, Corner Stone and Cap Stone Projects bring real issues from practice into the Master’s course. Students develop their own solutions in small teams.
Field trip or semester abroad
In the 3rd semester, you spend 10 weeks in a company of your choice where you can apply your knowledge in practice. Alternatively, you can use the 3rd semester for a semester abroad.
Welcome to the Maker Space: Understanding technology and code
In a digital age, managers also need to have an understanding of technology and software. In our Maker Space, there is hands-on technology and data analysis, and you will learn the basics of programming.
Team skills
Innovations arise when professional silo thinking is broken down. In the Master’s course, you acquire important skills for successful collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Scrum, Design Thinking and Prototyping
Flexibility, creativity and user-centricity are important success factors in a dynamic and complex environment. In trainings and projects, you apply modern creativity techniques and methods of agile project management directly.
Philosophy, politics, ethics
To understand digitalisation, you have to look beyond the horizon, as digitalisation is not just a technical issue. In the Master’s course, you take an interdisciplinary perspective so that you can shape digital transformation responsibly.
Digital detox and mindfulness
You should master technology and not be driven by it! Digital Management therefore also means being able to decide when to consciously refrain from digitalisation. In the Master’s course, you are made aware of mindful handling of digital media so that you can be successful and feel comfortable personally.
Target group
Digital natives, game changers and growth hackers: new technologies and business models fascinate them. Graduates want to found their own company, join a start-up or help shape the digital transformation in a corporation.
