Prospective students must have completed their bachelor's degree in the social sciences, such as economics, political science, or psychology, and should have an interest in data science as well as business and social science issues. Applicants from the humanities and natural sciences with a quantitative focus are also welcome.

The Master's programme Data Science for Society and Business is aimed at international students with a strong background in the social sciences who wish to tackle interdisciplinary challenges in their professional or academic fields through the use of digital data resources and computer-based tools.
The programme is also suitable for students from the humanities and natural sciences who are interested in innovative social data analysis and the pressing social and economic issues of digitalization. DSSB students benefit from a wide range of courses in various social, data, and economic sciences, as well as from close collaboration with computer science, environmental, and life sciences.
The programme includes core, methods, discovery, career, and elective modules, as well as a master's thesis. Students can choose from three different thematic focuses: Society and Economics, Data Science, or Environment & Health. The aim of the programme is to produce graduates with comprehensive skills in the field of digital content and data science, enabling them to responsibly and competently address fundamental issues in future organizations and digital societies.
