Details
The Bachelor's degree programme in Sports Science at MSH Medical School Hamburg is aimed at those interested in sports who want to get to know and deepen the methodological and scientific backgrounds of this subject beyond practical activity. The Bachelor's programme is application-oriented and guarantees a broad, scientifically sound education. Students get to know sports science as an interdisciplinary subject with disciplines such as training science, sports medicine, and biomechanics.
Sport psychology training also plays a central role during the studies. For example, students are able to conduct coaching sessions successfully, accompany competitions, and develop teams. They possess the ability to recognise problems in the training process in good time as trainers or instructors for children, adolescents, and adults, and to develop suitable solutions. They are fully aware of the pedagogical importance and their shared responsibility for the personal development of those they support. Last but not least, they have a general overview of the sports industry and thus know possible fields of application such as sports associations, clubs, and commercial enterprises.
The cooperation with sports facilities in Hamburg provides the conditions for the practical study components. In addition, there is close networking with the partners of the Academic Teaching School of the MSH – a state-recognised vocational school for physiotherapy.
The Bachelor's degree programme is state-recognised and professionally accredited.
