Who is the integrated training degree course in Speech Therapy (B.Sc.) at SRH University suitable for?
The Speech Therapy degree programme (Bachelor of Science) is aimed at individuals who have a strong interest in language, communication and their disorders and who aspire to a career in therapeutic or clinical settings. The programme is particularly suitable for school leavers with a (technical) university entrance qualification who are passionate about medical, social science and linguistic topics and who are looking for a scientifically sound as well as practice-oriented education. The degree also offers an academic and practice-focused entry into a future-proof professional field with high social relevance for professionally pre-qualified persons with relevant practical experience.
Admission requirements for the Speech Therapy degree course
- General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or a nationwide recognised technical university entrance qualification.
Note: For some state-specific qualifications (e.g. BK I and II in Baden-Württemberg), a relevant six-month internship may be required to secure nationwide recognition. - Alternatively: equivalent university entrance qualification or university entrance for qualified professionals.
- For professionally qualified applicants without university entrance qualification: proof of at least two years of vocational training and at least three years of professional experience plus passing an aptitude test.
- For international applicants: proof of German language skills at level C1.
- Completed training contract with a state-recognised SRH specialist school for speech therapy at one of the locations (Bonn, Düsseldorf, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe or Stuttgart).
- Application process: After online application and review of documents, a selection interview follows. If successful, an offer and contract signing take place.
- Lateral entry: Those who already have relevant professional experience can prove up to 55 ECTS credits through a recognised placement test and thus possibly enter directly into the 2nd or 3rd semester.
