Admission Requirements

In order to enroll in studies at Fresenius University, study applicants must demonstrate the qualification required for the studies (higher education entrance qualification). This is demonstrated by:
- general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
- or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, which entitles you to study in the corresponding subject area and in the federal states specified in the certificate,
- or the vocational baccalaureate, which entitles you to study at a university of applied sciences or in a tiered degree program at a university in the federal states specified in the certificate.
Alternatively, you can also be admitted without Abitur or vocational baccalaureate. The following conditions are required for studying without Abitur:
- You have passed a master craftsman examination.
- Or you have a qualification in accordance with the Regulation on access for vocationally qualified persons to universities in the state of Hesse, i.e., either a qualification from a vocational advanced training course of at least 400 hours, a qualification from a technical school or a professional or administrative academy, or a passed final examination in a state-recognized training occupation followed by at least three years of professional experience and passing a separate university entrance examination.
- For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be demonstrated for admission.

The study of Academic Speech Therapy at Fresenius University offers a comprehensive education in the fields of speech therapy and logopedics. With a total of 900 hours of practical experience, students can directly apply theory into practice.

In the elective area, you can choose from modules such as Innovative and New Treatment Methods, Interprofessional and Interdisciplinary Work, Participation in Research Projects, or Critically Reflective Therapeutic Actions.
During the study, you will acquire full health insurance approval and be able to treat all logopedic disorders and bill them with health insurance companies. After completing the study, various professional opportunities open up, for example, in the care of children with language development disorders or in vocal gender alignment for trans persons. In addition, the degree qualifies for further academic paths such as master's degrees up to a doctorate.
