This program is aimed at those who are interested in movement, health, and therapy and are seeking both state recognition as a physiotherapist and a bachelor's degree. The program is suitable for high school graduates with university entrance qualifications, as well as for professionally qualified individuals who are pursuing a career in healthcare or aiming to qualify scientifically. The program is particularly geared towards applicants who value the close integration of theory and practice, individual support, and small groups - and who later want to work in practices, clinics, rehabilitation facilities, or in research.
Admission: How to meet the requirements
For admission, you need the following formal proofs:
- General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (nationally recognized). Depending on the federal state, certain qualifications (e.g. vocational college in Baden-Württemberg) may require an additional relevant six-month internship.
- Equivalent university entrance qualification or proof of university entrance for qualified professionals (possibly after passing an entrance examination).
- Contract with a state-approved SRH School for Physiotherapy in Leverkusen, Karlsruhe, or Stuttgart.
- Tabular curriculum vitae with a current passport photo.
- Copy of the identity card (for international applicants: National Identity Card).
- For international applicants: Proof of German language skills at least at C1 level.
Personally, you should bring joy in dealing with people, empathy, and teamwork skills. Resilience, sense of responsibility, and motivation for independent, practice-oriented learning are helpful. What content can you expect in the integrated training Bachelor Physiotherapy?
In the integrated training programme Physiotherapy, you will learn central competencies for the treatment and care of patients in prevention, rehabilitation, and therapy. The curriculum combines in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the human body with current, scientifically based therapeutic procedures. You will focus on the following areas:
- Neurological, orthopaedic, paediatric, and internal medicine conditions
- Prevention and rehabilitation methods
- Treatment concepts for people after accidents, sports injuries, or chronic conditions
- Treatment techniques for patients with cardiovascular diseases
- Communication and conversation skills with different target groups

From the second semester onwards, you will focus on practical applications and work in therapist-co-therapist tandems with real patients, accompanied by experienced teachers. The programme is consistently practice- and competency-oriented. You will benefit from small study groups and close personal support. The CORE principle of the university promotes independent, active learning and direct application of knowledge in therapeutic practice.
How is the process of the integrated training programme in Physiotherapy structured?
The programme lasts seven semesters (3.5 years) and is offered at the locations Karlsruhe, Leverkusen, and Stuttgart. It combines theoretical lectures with practical work and training elements. You can start annually in the winter semester, and also in the summer semester at the Karlsruhe location.
- Semesters 1-2: Basic lectures and introduction to physiotherapeutic practice
- From Semester 2: Practical work with patients in tandems (therapist/co-therapist), intensive supervision
- From Semester 3: Six-week internships in various areas of physiotherapy
- Continuous integration of scientific theory, case studies, exercises, and practical placements
Teaching is conducted in small groups by qualified professionals. Over the course of the programme, you will receive both the international Bachelor of Science (B.Sc., 180 ECTS) and state recognition as a physiotherapist. Examinations, assignments, and practical reports are part of the structured study programme that focuses on self-directed learning.

The integrated training programme in Physiotherapy offers numerous career opportunities in healthcare and internationally. Upon completion of the programme, you can work in the following areas:

What are the costs and what financing options are available?
The monthly tuition fees vary by location:
- Campus Karlsruhe & Stuttgart: 1-6 semesters: €278 tuition fee + €184 school fee per month; 7th semester: €462 per month
- Campus Leverkusen: uniform €330 per month
In addition, there is a one-time enrolment fee of €750. For students from non-EEA countries, the enrolment fee is €1,000, and the fees for the first semester must be paid in advance. Additional examination fees are generally not incurred. The monthly instalments remain constant throughout the entire duration of the study programme.

If you come from abroad, you can be admitted, if you can provide SRH with a university entrance qualification in the form of certificates of previous education and sufficient German language skills (DSH or TestDaF examination), and if you have also successfully completed the selection procedure.
In preparation for your studies, you should complete at least two weeks of internship in the field of nursing and at least one week in the field of physiotherapy.
The internships must be completed by the beginning of October, i.e. before the start of studies (at the time of application, the internships must not yet have been completed).
