These are the requirements for the Bachelor of Physiotherapy

With your Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy, you can work, for example, as a physiotherapist in your own practice or in hospitals.

You can be admitted to the part-time distance learning program in Physiotherapy at IU International University if you have either a high school diploma (general higher education entrance qualification), a technical college entrance qualification, or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification. In addition, you must have completed training as a physiotherapist.

In addition, you can study physiotherapy without a high school diploma. In addition to your completed, qualified vocational training as a physiotherapist, you must have at least 3 years of full-time work experience as a physiotherapist.

This Bachelor's degree at IU comprises approximately 19 modules that you will take and complete over the course of 3 semesters of standard study time. Each module is worth 5-10 credit points (ECTS) and concludes with an examination such as a term paper or an exam. In total, you will earn 180 credit points from module to module and from semester to semester.

The typical study schedule for full-time Physiotherapy studies looks as follows:

• Semesters 1-3: Basics of Anatomy I, Basics of Physiology, General Principles of Physiotherapeutic Actions, Physiotherapeutic Examination, Assessment, Physical Therapy and Massage Techniques, Legal and Social Scientific Foundations, Basics of Anatomy II, Basics of Biomechanics, Exercise Science and Training Therapy, Pathophysiology, General Pathology, Development of a Treatment Plan / Documentation, Physiotherapeutic Treatment Techniques, Special Pathology I, Special Pathology II, Physiotherapy in Internal Medicine, Physiotherapy in Surgery and Orthopedics, Physiotherapy in Pediatrics and Neurology, Physiotherapy in Occupational Medicine, Psychiatry, and Geriatrics

Semesters 1-3 are fully recognized due to your Physiotherapy training, so you only need to complete Semesters 4, 5, and 6.

As a Specialization, you can choose from these exciting modules: Didactics for Therapists, Therapeutic Establishment, Prevention and Health in Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy.

How flexible is the standard study time in the distance learning Physiotherapy course?

At IU International University, in the part-time distance learning course, you can choose from one of 3 study models:

• In the Full-time Study program, the standard study time is 3 semesters or 18 months. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters or 12 months at no additional cost. The full-time Physiotherapy program is particularly suitable for those who are not working or only work a few hours per week.
• In Part-time Study I, the standard study time is 4 semesters or 24 months. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters or 12 months at no additional cost. Part-time Study I is suitable, for example, if you work part-time alongside your studies.
• In Part-time Study II, the standard study time is 6 semesters or 36 months. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters or 12 months at no additional cost. Part-time Study II is particularly suitable if you are heavily involved in your career alongside your distance learning studies.

By the way, you can also take a Leave of Absence Semester during your studies at no additional cost.
