Admission requirements
Access route 1
Prospective students must provide proof of university entrance qualification in accordance with § section 33 (3-5) Bremisches Hochschulgesetz (BremHG). This includes:
- Abitur (German university entrance qualification)
- Fachhochschulreife (entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences)
- Fachgebundene Hochschulreife (subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, if applicable)
- Master craftsman certificate, business administrator, advanced training, or equivalent qualification
- Completion of a 3-year, subject-specific vocational training
- University degree
- Equivalent foreign university entrance qualification (may require recognition assessment)
With one of these requirements, you can immediately enroll at APOLLON University of Health Care Management.
Access route 2
If you can demonstrate a completed, at least 2-year vocational training or equivalent knowledge and skills, you can take a placement test. Upon successful completion of these examinations, you will attain the subject-specific university entrance qualification and be fully admitted to the Bachelor's program at APOLLON University of Health Care Management even without an Abitur (German university entrance qualification).
Details
The Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Management at the APOLLON University of Health Care Management in Bremen is a part-time study program designed to be completed in 36 months. The program consists of 180 Credit Points (CP) and provides fundamental knowledge in the areas of natural sciences, nutritional sciences, food sciences, and prevention and health promotion.
Students learn to work independently based on scientific-physiological relationships and to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specific nutritional situations in various settings. The focus is on the interfaces of public health promotion, aspects of food quality, legal foundations, and management processes. The curriculum includes 24 mandatory modules and five elective modules, from which two must be chosen.
Graduates should be able to work in the fields of nutrition and consumer counseling, prevention of nutrition-related diseases, quality management in the food sector, and management of public catering services after completing the program. The acquired Bachelor of Science degree qualifies them for a scientifically based career in the field of nutrition.
The accreditation of the program by the Accreditation Council was carried out in April 2021, demonstrating that the quality of the study contents meets the requirements. The positive evaluation by the reviewers underscores the high quality of the infrastructure, teaching staff, and student support provided by the university.
