Admission requirements
Interested parties must participate in the HMU Erfurt selection process in order to obtain a place of study. After the written application documents have been submitted, a two-stage procedure must be completed. This consists of a medical test as well as a personal aptitude interview, which includes an integrated case simulation. In addition, complete application documents are required, which include, among other things, a tabular CV, a copy of the Abitur certificate, and a letter of motivation.

The Human Medicine degree programme at HMU Health and Medical University Erfurt is aimed at prospective medical doctors seeking a practice-oriented, comprehensive education at university level. The goal is to prepare students for a medical career in a wide range of fields, including research, the pharmaceutical industry, occupational medicine, and medical technology.
- The first phase of study covers the fundamentals of medicine such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry.
- The second phase involves clinical training, which is organised by topic and organ system.
- The third phase includes the Practical Year, which is completed in partner hospitals.
From the first semester, the curriculum promotes interprofessional collaboration and places great emphasis on clinical-diagnostic skills, which are practised in specialised skill labs. The connection between theory and practice is ensured through the Medical Teaching Program.
After graduation, graduates have diverse career opportunities and are prepared for the continually changing demands of the healthcare sector.
