Admission requirements

Admission to the Industrial Engineering degree programme is granted to those who meet one of the following requirements:

• General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)
• Advanced technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife)
• Passed master craftsman examination
• Intermediate school leaving certificate (at least Realschulabschluss) and a qualified completion of a recognised vocational training of at least 3 years, with an average or overall or final grade of 2.5 or better (if these grades are not indicated, the arithmetic mean of the individual subject grades applies)
• Completion of a professional advancement training of at least 400 lessons, a technical school or a vocational or administrative academy*
• Final examination in a state-recognised apprenticeship occupation with subsequent professional experience of at least 2 years related to the course of study and passing a separate university entrance examination*

*according to the ordinance on access to universities in the state of Hesse for professionally qualified persons

Further information on special qualifications is gladly provided upon request. Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may initially participate in the programme as guest auditors if admission to the HZB examination is granted.

For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission.

The interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree course "Industrial Engineering" (B.Eng.) prepares you optimally for professional everyday life as a six-semester on-campus study. During your studies, you acquire knowledge enabling you to optimise processes at the interfaces between engineering and business administration. To this end, you develop business administration and engineering skills, gain knowledge about materials and design as well as manufacturing techniques, and become familiar with relevant topics in electrical engineering and business informatics. Additionally, you gain insights into legal fundamentals. Furthermore, you improve your technical English.

During your studies, you can also choose your personal, career-oriented specialisation to deepen your skills further.

Course progression
At DIPLOMA University, you have the option to study the Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering in one of three variants: as an online degree, as a distance learning programme on site, or as an on-campus programme.

The on-campus programme is available at our DIPLOMA University location Bad Sooden-Allendorf and typically lasts six semesters in the standard period of study. In the classic university of applied sciences programme, you attend lectures, seminars and practical exercises on campus from Monday to Friday. The total workload comprises 180 ECTS (credit points).

Costs, registration & start of studies
The on-campus programme begins once a year in the winter semester (October).
