Admission requirements

The degree programme is aimed at applicants with a general university entrance qualification, subject-specific university entrance qualification, or advanced technical college entrance qualification, as well as technicians and master craftsmen.

Before starting the course of study, a basic internship of at least 6 weeks must be demonstrated in the following areas: 

  • Manual techniques of electrical engineering / electronics (e.g. electrical installations, control cabinet construction, printed circuit board manufacturing, soldering)
  • Basic activities in data processing / communication technology (e.g. assembly and maintenance of computer systems, software installation, data collection)

  • By the end of the 4th semester, a further specialised internship of at least 6 weeks must be completed and demonstrated in the following areas:

  • Assembly and maintenance of electrical machines, systems and devices
  • Measurement and testing of systems, devices and components
  • Activities in automation and communication technology

  • For applicants who have completed technician or master craftsman training or who can provide relevant professional experience, this study requirement is of course fulfilled.

    The degree programme as a foundation prepares for professional activity in an exciting and varied field of work that promises the further development of creativity and the self-realisation of the engineer. In order to provide the broadest possible access to the various fields of electrical engineering / electronics, the degree programme in our department is based on teaching engineering fundamentals in mathematics, electrical engineering, technical physics as well as computer science and data processing.

    On this basis, practical-oriented advanced courses convey skills and knowledge in the following key areas of electrical engineering:

  • Automation technology
  • Information and communication technology
  • Electrical energy engineering
