Details
The bachelor's degree programme provides you with the necessary fundamental and applied knowledge to work as a mechanical engineer – this designation always includes female engineers as well – in all areas of industry. The aim is a universal qualification in this field, rather than a specialisation in individual areas.
Building on foundational subjects such as mathematics, technical mechanics, materials science or construction elements, you will gain broad knowledge in the fields of design and production engineering. In addition, there are subjects such as computer-aided design, design methodology, machine tools and production processes.
Particular importance is attached to the use of computer-based methods and tools, which have become indispensable in the daily professional life of mechanical engineers.
Your specialised knowledge is complemented by subjects such as business management, quality management and project leadership.
A special practical focus is gained through your final thesis, which is usually produced within or in cooperation with an industrial company.
The mathematics bridging course is offered to all regularly enrolled first-semester students before the semester begins. The dates will be announced in writing upon admission or enrolment.
