Admission: What criteria do you need to meet?
The following formal requirements apply for admission to the MBA in Security and Disaster Management:
- A completed bachelor's degree programme of at least six semesters (minimum 180 ECTS) or an equivalent professional qualifying university degree (e.g. Diploma, state examination, Magister, Master).
- At least one year of relevant full-time professional experience after completion of the first degree. The work must have a professional connection to security or disaster management or the first degree.
- Alternatively, admission is possible with a relevant vocational qualification plus at least two years of relevant professional experience and additionally a further qualification for career advancement or university entrance qualification as well as a passed aptitude test at Hochschule Fresenius (special admission).
- Proof of German and English language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
You should have an interest in strategic tasks and management processes. Important personal requirements are:

How does the part-time programme work?
The course is designed as a part-time programme with a standard duration of four semesters (90 ECTS). You study at a dedicated online campus of Hochschule Fresenius. The teaching sessions take place as virtual live lectures 1–2 evenings per week as well as two Saturdays per month. Almost all exams can be taken flexibly online; alternatively, six examination centres are available (Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, Wiesbaden).
The curriculum combines compulsory modules with elective modules, enabling you to design your focus individually. To interfere as little as possible with your professional life, the sessions are organised as block seminars or in the evenings and at weekends. The learning offer is supplemented by practice-oriented projects and case studies, which you can also apply to your own professional questions. The international orientation, working in small learning groups and the targeted promotion of leadership skills characterise the programme.

Exchange with students takes place in small learning groups, enabling intensive learning even in the virtual space.
What does the degree cost and what financing options are available?
The monthly tuition fee starts at 545 euros; total costs amount to about 13,080 euros for the entire programme. A one-off registration fee of 250 euros is added. The price includes all teaching materials, the use of the Online Campus as well as access to supplementary courses in the areas of personal development, languages, career, business start-up and networking.
