Who is the Bachelor's Degree in Eurythmy suitable for?

The Bachelor's degree programme in Eurythmy at Alanus University is aimed at people interested in the art of movement, music and language. It is especially suitable for those who want to discover eurythmy as an independent, artistic-pedagogical or therapeutic discipline and deepen their practical skills. It addresses both school graduates with university entrance qualifications and professionals with completed training who are aiming for a career in cultural, educational or social fields of work. International applicants are also welcome, provided they have sufficient language skills. The programme is suitable for you if you have a creative, self-reflective approach to artistic movement and want to further develop your skills in dealing with music, language and group work.

Overview of admission requirements

  • General or subject-specific university entrance qualification as a formal requirement for direct admission.
  • Successful participation in the artistic admission procedure: This includes a personal admission interview as well as a practical presentation in the fields of movement, music or literature; spontaneous movement tasks are also part of it.
  • Alternative access without university entrance qualification: Possible through an extended admission procedure that assesses special suitability for the programme, or through completed vocational training with at least three years of professional experience.
  • Language certificate for international applicants: Proof of sufficient German or English skills in the first year of study (the certificate can be provided during the course of the first year).

Personal requirements for the eurythmy degree are primarily openness towards artistic processes, interest in movement, enjoyment of musical and linguistic expression as well as willingness to work intensively in an ensemble. A certain affinity for pedagogy, therapy or interdisciplinary collaboration facilitates the entry. Your motivation to engage both practically and theoretically with the fundamental questions of art, education and humanity is just as important as reliability and team spirit. Prior knowledge in the areas of music, language or the art of movement is helpful, but not mandatory.
