The Digital Business University of Applied Sciences (DBU) is a private, state-recognized university based in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Founded in 2018, it offers practice-oriented bachelor's and master's programmes as well as further education opportunities in the field of digital business. With a student population of 289 in the winter semester 2024/2025, DBU sees itself as a university of applied sciences with a clear focus on the requirements of the digital age.
DBU's programmes include Digital Business Management, Digital Marketing & Communication Management, and Data Science & Business Analytics (Bachelor), as well as Cyber & IT Security, Data Science & Management, and Digital Business Management (Master). The programmes are accredited by the Accreditation Council and the agency ACQUIN.
The study model is flexible: full-time and part-time programmes enable career-integrated education, characterized by an innovative, semi-virtual learning concept. Students complete their modules sequentially and have access to digital learning platforms, supervised forums, virtual classrooms, and optional on-campus events in Berlin.
DBU places great value on individual support, personal closeness, and a high degree of flexibility. Depending on the study model, tuition fees range from €290 to €620 per month. A special financing option available is the DBU Education Fund, a financing model for students based on the concept of the reverse generation contract.
DBU maintains an extensive corporate network that provides students with insights into practice and diverse career prospects. Cooperation partners include PwC, SAP UA, Deloitte, Fraunhofer IAIS, WWF, Kienbaum, AVM, DuMont, Cornelsen, the German Franchise Association, and many other organizations and companies. This collaboration is evident through project work, guest lectures, and research-related partnerships.
Research plays a central role at DBU. Thematic focuses include digital transformation in organizations, modern marketing strategies, and the use of data and artificial intelligence in the corporate context. Institutions such as the Institute for Applied Blockchain (IABC) and the INTES Foundation Professorship for Entrepreneurial Families and Family Businesses complement the academic offering with practice-oriented research and teaching.
DBU aims to educate its students to become digitally competent professionals and leaders who actively shape the digital transformation. With its modern infrastructure, Creative Spaces, and a campus in the heart of Berlin, DBU provides an attractive learning environment for the workplaces of tomorrow.
