Bard College Berlin – A Liberal Arts University is a private, state-recognized institution of higher education in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1999 as the "European College of Liberal Arts" (ECLA), the institution offers interdisciplinary programs in the humanities and social sciences. Since 2011, the college has been part of the American Bard College. In the winter semester of 2024/2025, the college had 316 students. Students, who come from more than 40 different countries, pursue their studies in English and have the opportunity to obtain both an American and a German Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.).

Programs:
Bard College Berlin offers a range of study programs, including two bachelor's programs: the B.A. in Humanities, the Arts, and Social Thought and the B.A. in Economics, Politics, and Social Thought, both with a standard duration of four years. In addition, there are one-year programs such as the Academy Year and the Project Year. There are also specialized semester programs like the "Arts-and-Society-in-Berlin Program" and the "Begin-in-Berlin Program" for Bard College students from the USA. Particularly noteworthy is the "Program for International Education and Social Change," which provides full scholarships to students from crisis regions.

Studies and Accreditation:
Studying at Bard College Berlin comprises 240 ECTS credits and is designed for eight semesters. It combines a classical academic education with practical elements such as museum visits, internships, and volunteer work in Berlin. The college is accredited in both Germany and the USA, including by the Science Council and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The bachelor's programs are additionally accredited by the German agency ACQUIN.

Campus:
The campus of Bard College Berlin is located in the Pankow-Niederschönhausen district of Berlin. The dormitories are in close proximity to the academic facilities. The campus is housed in former embassy buildings constructed in the 1970s, which used to host diplomatic representations of several countries, including Cuba, Egypt, and Nigeria.
