Admission Requirements

In order to begin university studies at Fresenius University, prospective students must demonstrate the necessary qualification for the course of study (university entrance qualification). This is demonstrated by:
- the general university entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
- or the subject-specific university entrance qualification, which entitles you to study in the corresponding subject area and in the federal states specified in the certificate,
- or the vocational baccalaureate, which entitles you to study at a university of applied sciences or in a structured degree program at a university in the federal states specified in the certificate.
Alternatively, you can also be admitted without a high school diploma or vocational baccalaureate. Provided for studying without a high school diploma:
- You have passed a master craftsman examination.
- Or you have a qualification according to the Regulation on Access for vocationally qualified persons to universities in the state of Hesse, i.e., either a qualification from a vocational advanced training course of at least 400 hours, completion of a technical school or a vocational or administrative academy, or passing an exam in a state-recognized training occupation followed by at least three years of professional experience and passing a separate university entrance exam.
- For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be proven for admission.

Study Contents and Specializations
The part-time study programme Social Work (B.A.) is designed for individuals from a social or other professional sector who want to deepen their knowledge. The course provides comprehensive expertise necessary for work in the social sector. Students benefit from a flexible learning structure that can be easily combined with an existing job.
Teaching units are delivered in both face-to-face and digital formats to ensure optimal compatibility between study and work. The integrated practical phase and various elective modules offer participants the opportunity to expand their knowledge in a practical and application-oriented manner.
By the way, you can integrate a practical semester into your study programme. After the 4th semester, you can also take additional modules in Psychosocial Counselling and Conflict Management. If you choose both options, the standard period of study extends to 8 semesters, and you will acquire a total of 210 ECTS credits in the programme.

Study Concept and Process
The part-time study programme at Fresenius University is a so-called hybrid study that combines presence components with online study optimally. This allows you to complete a completely flexible study programme that integrates perfectly into your daily life, your professional life, and your family life.
The lectures generally take place on 1-3 evenings per week, usually from 6:00 pm to 9:15 pm. Additional lectures are held on 2-3 Saturdays per month, each from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Practical: You do not have to attend lectures for every module. Many lectures can be completed online or from home as well. With your enrollment, you get access to our learning platform, studynet. Additionally, you will study with elaborately designed study scripts, the studymags.
