Admission requirements

For admission you need a relevant first degree and German-language proficiency. Key points at a glance:

  • First degree: a completed Bachelor (or equivalent) with a (social) pedagogy, education or educational science focus from a state-recognised university, comprising at least 180 ECTS, with a minimum final grade “satisfactory”.
  • Admission with Psychology: possible if you bring an additional 10 ECTS in pedagogy/educational sciences/educational psychology; alternatively, by completing two specified modules from the IU Bachelor in Pedagogy before progressing fully.

This is a 100% online programme. You should be comfortable studying independently, managing deadlines and engaging in reflective practice for counselling and leadership. Plan with a realistic workload: around 40 hours/week in full-time, approx. 25 hours/week in part-time I, and about 20 hours/week in part-time II.
