Requirements and Target Group

Admission: What requirements must you meet?
- A first university degree (at least Bachelor, Diploma or Magister) with at least 180 ECTS is the regular requirement.
- Alternatively, a completed relevant vocational training as well as at least two years of professional experience in a field related to the programme and the passing of an aptitude test are sufficient.
- It is also possible to be admitted without a university degree under certain conditions: for this, you need at least four years of relevant professional experience as well as a completed subject-related vocational training; participation in a written aptitude test (e.g. term paper) and a letter of motivation are obligatory.
- Professionally qualified candidates with a further training certificate or master craftsman’s certificate and relevant professional experience can also be admitted to the programme.
- A numerus clausus (NC) is not required; admission is possible without the general higher education entrance qualification or subject-specific university entrance qualification.
- You should have an interest in educational processes and digital media as well as openness towards technology-supported learning methods.
- Experience in the education sector, in didactics, educational management or with digital educational technologies is helpful, but not mandatory.
- Analytical thinking ability, self-organisation and motivation for self-directed learning are central soft skills for successfully completing the distance learning programme.
- Communication skills and ability to work in a team are important, as many forms of learning promote exchange and collaboration.
- You should be prepared to engage critically with social and technological developments in the education sector.
- Basic IT skills as well as initial contacts with digital learning platforms make getting started easier.

The programme comprises 120 ECTS credits, distributed across various module groups. You can complete all study and examination achievements from home or any location of your choice. Personal support, advice and exchange also take place digitally – through study coaches, lecturers and an active online community.
The campus network and the service offerings of Hochschule Fresenius are available to you nationwide. Attendance on site is not compulsory; however, the optional use of the study centres of Hochschule Fresenius in cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Idstein, Cologne, Munich and Wiesbaden is allowed – for example, for voluntary study groups or advisory appointments.
Costs and Financing: What fees should you expect?
The tuition fees for the Master’s in Education, Media and Digitalisation at Hochschule Fresenius vary depending on the chosen duration of study:
- 24 months: 467.25 Euros per month (regularly 525 Euros per month)
- 36 months: 351.55 Euros per month (regularly 395 Euros per month)
- 48 months: 280.35 Euros per month (regularly 315 Euros per month)
The total costs range from approximately 11,880 Euros (with longer duration correspondingly lower monthly fees). Using the discount code “START11” entitles you to permanently reduced tuition fees. Included are all study materials, online libraries, examination services and access to all e-learning offerings. Additional costs may occur for voluntary on-site events, specialist literature or optional additional services.
