Requirements and Target Group
The part-time Master's programme "Neurorehabilitation for Therapists" is aimed at qualified therapists from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy or language therapy who already have professional experience and wish to specifically deepen their skills in the neurological field. The course is particularly suitable for people who aspire to leadership roles, team responsibility or specialised therapeutic activities in clinics, rehabilitation centres, practices or in assistive device provision, as well as those who want to obtain an academic degree at Master's level. The flexible, part-time study organisation enables a meaningful combination of study and everyday therapeutic practice.
Which formal admission requirements do you have to meet?
To be admitted to the Master's programme, you need to provide proof of one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (at least 210 ECTS) in physiotherapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy
- or completed training in one of the aforementioned therapeutic professions with an additional Bachelor’s degree, e.g. in therapy, health or health sciences (basic therapeutic expertise is required)
- or completed training as a speech therapist with statutory health insurance approval
If you have obtained a Bachelor's degree with fewer than 210 ECTS, Hochschule Fresenius will examine on a case-by-case basis whether admission is still possible. Applicants from abroad require proof of German language skills at C1 level.
You should have a strong interest in neurological issues of rehabilitation and enjoy conducting practice-oriented research and scientific work. Experience in interdisciplinary exchange, openness to innovative therapeutic methods and a willingness to integrate evidence-based approaches into your professional practice are helpful. Communication and teamwork skills, analytical thinking as well as self-organisation and self-motivation are important personal prerequisites for successfully completing a part-time Master's programme.
