Details
The part-time Bachelor’s degree programme B.Sc. Applied Therapy Sciences, which can be completed alongside training and employment, aims to educate so-called "Reflective Practitioners". The learning objectives pursued relate depending on the module to purely professional aspects (e.g. taking on the expert role, counselling in the area of movement, activity or communication), but also to interdisciplinary aspects (e.g. management, support of teaching with regard to professional practical competencies).
A focus complementing the practical training is on scientific qualification. The course is characterised by a close link between theory and practice. The teaching staff, who are distinguished by academic and didactic excellence, also place an emphasis on promoting strong interdisciplinary thinking in the future professional fields.
With the exception of the three modules of "Reflective Practice", the main study phase of the training-accompanying degree programme takes place both in Cologne and Regensburg.
In the part-time degree programme, the main study phase as well as the three modules of "Reflective Practice" take place in Cologne.
In total, 17 study modules are completed. The first four modules, each worth 5 CP, which are completed part-time within one year or alongside training within two years, take place at the locations in Cologne or Regensburg. The following semesters 3 to 5, which are offered at the Cologne location, comprise two modules worth 25 CP each and one module worth 20 CP. Face-to-face teaching usually takes place three times per module at weekends.
Each module requires a considerable proportion of active self-study as well as preparation and follow-up work. With each successfully passed module, students earn credit points according to the ECTS system and complete their studies by writing the bachelor’s thesis during the last semester after passing all modules.
Face-to-face teaching takes place exclusively at weekends.
