The HGE teaching concept for the B.Sc. Nursing degree
The academic nursing education according to the Nursing Professions Act addresses the demands of the German Council of Science and Humanities, which specify an academic qualification rate of 10–20% for patient-centred nursing. The Hochschule für Gesundheitsfachberufe Eberswalde consistently implements the corresponding requirements in its study concept for the B.Sc. Nursing degree programme.
The programme at HGE is characterised by its practical relevance and close connection to practice: simulation-based teaching and internships are an integral part of the dual degree course at the university and run continuously from the first to the seventh semester.
Each module of the degree programme conveys professional, methodological, practical and interdisciplinary content, subject-related, methodological and interprofessional competences, as well as key qualifications.
Thematic focus areas lie in the fields of community health care – Community Health Nursing, digital transformation, and sustainability in health care provision.
Joint teaching and learning units with students of the bachelor’s degree programme Midwifery promote interprofessional learning at all learning locations of the theoretical and practical study phases.
Students are also involved in current research, address current research topics within this context and in turn receive research assignments on questions arising from their practical placements.
