Admission Requirements
For the study programme Naturopathy & Complementary Medicine in Idstein, you must meet the following requirements:
- You are either a licensed doctor (human and dental medicine) or a university graduate of a therapy profession (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy). Psychologists, health and nursing scientists as well as pharmacists are also admitted.

Course Content and Specialisations
As a graduate, you are able to understand the interaction of various processes in the human body and their connections with psychosocial factors, and to consider patients holistically on this basis. You will also be able to apply traditional and modern natural healing methods from European and Asian medicine and research them using scientific methods.
You will set a new focus in your career and have – depending on your professional background – the opportunity to open your own naturopathic practice, work as a lecturer or expert assessor, engage in research, or establish yourself in the publishing sector.

- 1st semester: Psychosocial fundamentals of naturopathy and complementary medicine, Biological fundamentals of naturopathy, Methods of scientific work
- 2nd semester: Methods of scientific work, Introduction and exploration of classical naturopathy, Applied holistic medicine
- 3rd semester: Introduction and exploration of classical naturopathy, Evidence base of complementary medicine, Applied holistic medicine, Master’s examination
- 4th semester: Evidence base of complementary medicine, Master’s examination

The part-time course at Hochschule Fresenius is a so-called hybrid course that optimally combines attendance phases with self-study periods. This way, you complete a fully flexible course that fits perfectly into your daily life, professional life, and family life.
The attendance dates take place in 3 compact block weeks per semester. In the 4th semester, you undertake only 2 attendance weekends to prepare for the master’s thesis and the disputation.
