Admission Requirements
To be able to start a university degree at the Carl Remigius Medical School, applicants must prove that they have the required qualification for studying (university entrance qualification). This is evidenced by:
- the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
- or the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, which entitles you to study in the corresponding subject area and in the federal states specified on the certificate,
- or the university of applied sciences entrance qualification, which entitles you to study at a university of applied sciences or in a consecutive degree programme at a university in the federal states specified on the certificate.
In addition, you need a bachelor’s degree in one of the fields of human medicine, health, nursing or therapy sciences, midwifery sciences, osteopathy, physician assistance or in the social and health care sector for admission.
Your first university degree should comprise at least 210 ECTS. If your degree comprises fewer than 210 credit points, you may possibly prove the missing ECTS through qualifying modules.

Course Content and Specialisations
This part-time degree programme systematically imparts profession-specific scientific skills, in-depth knowledge of research in health professions, expertise in educational management, and specialised competencies in teaching methodology.
The study plan includes the following modules:
- 1st semester: Nursing & health education methods, school & curriculum development, professional development in teaching, diversity management
- 2nd semester: Subject didactics & practical school studies, interprofessional concepts in teaching, educational psychology, communication & counselling in the vocational education context
- 3rd semester: Digitalisation & media literacy in teaching, current framework conditions of education policy, short internship in an educational institution, scientific-theoretical positions & research methods in health and medical education
- 4th semester: Final examination

The part-time course at the Carl Remigius Medical School is a so-called hybrid degree programme, which optimally combines in-person sessions with online study. This allows you to complete a completely flexible course that fits perfectly into your everyday life, your professional career, and your family life.
The lectures take place at the beginning of each semester in a short week from Wednesday to Saturday, as well as on a total of 4 weekends during the semester, from Friday to Saturday.
The lectures and seminars are supplemented by teaching and training projects including teaching demonstrations.
