Which formal admission criteria must you meet?
The following formal requirements apply for admission to the MSc Sustainability, Innovation & Technology:
- Completed first degree with at least six semesters of standard study period in a relevant subject area. Two programme variants are available:
- For the 90-ECTS master: A first degree with at least 210 ECTS credits
- For the 120-ECTS master: A first degree with at least 180 ECTS credits
- Subject-related relevance of the first degree: Degrees in fields such as business, environmental, natural or engineering sciences, computer science, sustainability management, data science, sociology (with a sustainability focus), policy, AI, or similar study programmes are required.
- English language proficiency at least at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
- Motivation and suitability for the programme, documented in the application form and verified during the mandatory selection interview with the university
- Note: Application without a first university degree is not possible for this master’s programme.
Special features: Those aspiring to the 90-ECTS master with a 180-ECTS bachelor's degree must, in exceptional cases, prove relevant professional experience of at least two years in a thematically related field (very limited; the 120-ECTS master is then preferred).
For a successful application, you should demonstrate practical experience or academic study in one of the areas of sustainability, innovation or technology. International experience and engagement in sustainable or technology-driven projects are also positively evaluated in the selection process.
