The Central State Office for Distance Learning (ZFU) has approved the course Coaching under the number 1135022c. Who is the Master Coaching (M.A.) suitable for - and what evidence do you need?
The course is suitable for professionals who want to anchor coaching at an academic level. Typical profiles include: specialists and managers from human resources (HR) or internal coaching and change processes; consultants from organizational development, supervision, or mediation seeking to enhance their portfolio with academic backing; educational or psychosocial professionals from schools, social work, or healthcare looking to accompany their clients as coaches in the future. The format as a distance learning course with 4-6 face-to-face days per semester helps you to combine studies and work - either full-time or part-time while working.
Admission requirements
To enroll, you must have an initial professional qualification and work experience. Alternatively, access is possible as a further education master through an aptitude test.
- First academic degree (e.g. psychology, social work, pedagogy, business, nursing or therapy sciences, law or related subjects) and at least 1 year of qualified professional experience.
- Access without a first degree through an aptitude test according to the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act with existing university entrance qualification.
Requirements for the aptitude test (one of the following options):
- General higher education entrance qualification or technical college entrance qualification and then at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Completed vocational training with an overall grade of at least 2.5 and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Master craftsman's examination or equivalent qualification (e.g. business administrator, specialist merchant) and then at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
The degree programme is accredited distance learning; teaching is mainly conducted online with compact face-to-face phases. The study starts on April 1st and October 1st each year, and registration is possible all year round.

What do you learn in the Master Coaching at Vinzenz Pallotti University?
You develop solid coaching competence on a university basis – combined with psychological fundamentals and ethical reflection. The programme includes 12 compulsory modules, 2 elective modules (each worth 5 ECTS), and the master's thesis with 20 ECTS. Specializations according to interest: Through two elective modules, you shape your profile. 13 elective modules offer designated specializations such as "Coaching, Digitalization, and AI" (e.g., "Artificial Intelligence & ChatGPT," "Ethics in the Digital Age"), "Coaching and Sustainability" (e.g., "The Concept of Sustainability," "Sustainable Business Models"), or "Coaching and Society" (e.g., "Globalization and Economization," "Organizational and Business Ethics"). The programme prepares for scientific work and a doctorate; a doctoral programme (Ph.D.) at the university is in the planning stage. It is program accredited and approved as a distance learning course by ZFU.
