Admission Requirements

Requirement for admission to the consecutive study program is a successfully completed bachelor's degree in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry, or a related field with at least 180 ECTS, or an equivalent academic degree, such as a diploma.
If a bachelor's degree is not yet fully completed, 80% of the required credit points must have been earned at the time of application. The remaining credits must be completed by the time of enrollment.
If the master's degree is to be pursued as further education, a bachelor's degree in these areas is also required, supplemented by at least one year of relevant work experience. In this case, an additional module on scientific work is completed in the first semester, and the weighting of the thesis is adjusted accordingly.
For professionally qualified individuals without an initial academic degree, a university entrance qualification according to § 60 of the Hessian Higher Education Act, a completed vocational training (e.g., CTA, chemical laboratory assistant, chemical technician), and at least two years of relevant work experience are required. In addition, the university's aptitude test must be passed.
In addition, you must demonstrate proficiency in German at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or at an equivalent level.
