The IU International University offers the Master’s in Digital Transformation in 2 variants: the 60-ECTS variant lasts for 2 semesters in full-time study, while the 120-ECTS variant lasts for 4 semesters in full-time study.
For both variants, a first academic degree from a state-recognized or state university is required, such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Your degree should have a minimum grade of "Satisfactory."
Additionally, you must demonstrate a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in management or consulting.
For the 60-ECTS variant, the following is also required:
- If your first degree is worth 240 ECTS and you can show at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll immediately in the master's program.
- If your first degree is worth 210 ECTS and you can show at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll immediately in the Digital Transformation master's program.
- If your first degree is worth 180 ECTS, take courses totaling at least 30 ECTS and demonstrate at least 1 year of additional work experience. Alternatively, show at least 2 years of qualified work experience.
In addition, you can have prior credits recognized to shorten the study time in distance learning and save on tuition fees. Credits can be recognized for achievements in previous master's programs, and extensive work experience in the field of Digital Transformation can also be acknowledged by the university. It is best to submit your recognition request along with your application.

How flexible is the standard study time in the distance learning course Digital Transformation

- In the full-time program, the standard study time is 2 semesters for the 60-ECTS variant and 4 semesters for the 120-ECTS variant. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. The full-time program in Digital Transformation is particularly suitable for those who are not working or working only a few hours per week.
- In part-time program I, the standard study time is 3 semesters for the 60-ECTS variant and 6 semesters for the 120-ECTS variant. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. Part-time program I is suitable, for example, if you work part-time alongside your studies.
- In part-time program II, the standard study time is 4 semesters for the 60-ECTS variant and 8 semesters for the 120-ECTS variant. You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no extra cost. Part-time program II is particularly suitable if you are heavily involved in your career alongside your distance learning program.
