With your Master's in Finance, Accounting and Taxation you will work, for example, as a Chief Financial Officer, as a Head of Accounting or as a Head of Treasury.

You can be admitted to the part-time Master's programme in Finance, Accounting and Taxation at IU International University if you have obtained a first degree at a state-recognised or state-run university, such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree. The final grade of your degree should be at least "Satisfactory".

The focus of your first degree should also be in the field of economics or business administration. If your first degree does not have a focus on economics or business administration, you can still be admitted via a Master's entrance examination.

If you choose the German-language option, you must complete the course "Steuerlehre" (taxation) before starting your studies. You can take this course free of charge at the IU. Alternatively, you can provide evidence of comparable prior knowledge.

If you choose the English-language option, you will also need to prove your English skills via TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English test, Cambridge certificate or similar. If you wish, you can also take a free English course at the IU at level B2.

In addition, you can have extensive prior achievements recognised in order to shorten the study time in the distance learning programme and to save tuition fees. For example, achievements you have made in previous Master's programmes can be recognised. The university can also recognise extensive professional experience in the field of finance, accounting and taxation. This Master's degree at IU comprises about 16 modules, which you take and complete in the course of 4 semesters of standard study time. Each module has a scope of 5-10 credit points (ECTS) and concludes with an examination such as a term paper or a written exam.   • In the full-time study, the standard period of study is 4 semesters or 24 months. You can extend the standard period of study by up to 2 semesters or 12 months at no additional cost. The full-time study programme in Finance, Accounting and Taxation is particularly suitable for those who do not work or only work a few hours a week.
  • In the Part-time study I, the standard period of study is 6 semesters or 36 months. You can extend the standard period of study by up to 2 semesters or 12 months at no additional cost. Part-time study I is suitable, for example, if you work part-time alongside your studies.
