Admission Requirements

The requirement for admission to this degree programme is a successfully completed Bachelor's degree in Business Psychology with a grade of "good" or better, totaling at least 180 ECTS points, or an equivalent academic qualification, such as a diploma. In case of a different average grade, the academic ability may need to be demonstrated through a separate selection interview.
Degrees in business and psychology are considered equivalent to degrees in Business Psychology in this context. The admission committee decides on the equivalence of a degree in Business Psychology or a comparable degree not obtained at Fresenius University.
For applicants with a degree in economics: You must demonstrate sufficient knowledge in business psychology to successfully complete the master's programme. To this end, a written compulsory subject examination on the following psychological topics must be carried out in advance of the respective semester at Fresenius University: 1. Business Psychology, 2. General Psychology, 3. Social Psychology, 4. Clinical Psychology in the Workplace, 5. Psychological Diagnostics, 6. Methodology and Evaluation. Sufficient knowledge in business psychology is considered demonstrated when these exams are passed with a grade of "4.0" or better.
For applicants with a degree in psychology: You must demonstrate sufficient knowledge in economics to successfully complete the master's programme. To this end, a written compulsory subject examination on the following economic topics must be carried out in advance of the respective semester at Fresenius University: 1. Basics of Business Administration, 2. Basics of Economics, 3. Marketing, 4. Managerial Accounting, 5. Cost and Performance Accounting, 6. Civil Law, Commercial and Corporate Law. Sufficient knowledge in economics is considered demonstrated when these exams are passed with a grade of "4.0" or better.
In addition, you must demonstrate proficiency in the German language at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages if German is not your native language.
Graduates of Fresenius University also submit a letter of recommendation from the dean of studies of the respective Bachelor's / Diploma programme or from the supervisor of the Bachelor's thesis / diploma thesis. External applicants undergo a selection interview with members of the admission committee.
Study Contents and Specialisations
The objective of the Master's programme in Business Psychology is to provide you with a solid and advanced knowledge in the scientific discipline of psychology, especially business psychology, and to expand these contents with interdisciplinary skills.
The programme Business Psychology (M.Sc.) is recognized by the Professional Association of German Psychologists (BDP) as a basic psychology degree due to its clearly psychological profile. The BDP's assessment is based on the criteria of the European Certificate in Psychology (EuroPsy), which is supported by the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations. Thus, there is the possibility of later recognition as a Euro-Psychologist.
