Admission Requirements

With your B.Sc. in Business Psychology, for example, you can work in market and opinion research, in personnel development, or as a corporate consultant.

In order to begin university studies at Fresenius University, prospective students must demonstrate the qualification required for the course of study (university entrance qualification). This is demonstrated by:

  • the general qualification for university entrance (Abitur), which entitles you to study at all universities and in all federal states,
  • or the subject-specific qualification for university entrance, which entitles you to study in the corresponding subject area and in the federal states specified in the certificate,
  • or the technical college entrance qualification, which entitles you to study at a technical college or in a multi-stage degree program at a university in the federal states specified in the certificate.

Alternatively, you can also be admitted without an Abitur or technical college entrance qualification. Provided the following for admission without Abitur:

  • You have passed a master craftsman's examination.
  • Or you have a qualification in accordance with the regulation on access for professionally qualified individuals to universities in the state of Hesse, either a qualification from a professional advanced training course of at least 400 hours, a qualification from a technical school or a vocational or administrative academy, or a passed final examination in a state-recognized training occupation followed by at least three years of professional experience and passing a separate university entrance examination.
  • For foreign qualifications, equivalence must be demonstrated for admission.

Study Contents and Specializations

Business psychology combines business administration knowledge with areas of applied psychology that play a role in an economic context. Therefore, the curriculum of the Bachelor's degree program in Business Psychology at Fresenius University includes basic business knowledge, mathematics, statistics, accounting, commercial law, and interdisciplinary qualifications.

The following modules are planned in the study schedule:

  • 1st Semester: Fundamentals of Business Administration, Accounting, Business Psychology, General Psychology I, Descriptive Statistics, and Probability Theory.
  • 2nd Semester: General Psychology II, Social Psychology, Inferential Statistics, Research Methods I, Scientific Work.
  • 3rd Semester: Civil Law and Labor Law, Personality and Differential Psychology, Clinical Psychology in the Workplace, Fundamentals of Test Theory and Psychological Diagnostics, Empirical Research Project, Communication Psychology.
  • 4th Semester: International and Intercultural Management, Data Science and Data Analytics, Specialization I.
  • 5th Semester: Business Ethics and Sustainability, Biological Psychology, Practical Project, Specialization II.
  • 6th Semester: Developmental Psychology, Research Methods II, Elective Module, Bachelor's Thesis.

During the course of your studies, you will also delve into exciting specializations, such as Personnel Psychology, Work Psychology and Digitalisation, Organisational Psychology, Market, Advertising and Media Psychology. In addition, you can choose one of these elective modules: Emerging Technology Trends, ERP Systems in Companies, Business Informatics, Engagement as the Subject of Individual Education, Digital Program and Project Management, Diagnostic Procedures.

By the way, you can optionally integrate an internship into your study program. With an internship, the standard period of study extends to a total of 7 semesters, and you earn 210 ECTS points.

Fresenius University offers the Bachelor's degree program in Business Psychology at a total of 6 locations in Germany. Conveniently, if you want to explore a new city during your studies, you can simply switch to one of the other campuses of the university.
