Zeppelin University

Zeppelin University (ZU) is a private, state-recognized foundation university located in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance, Baden-Württemberg. Founded in June 2003, the university is under the auspices of the ZU Foundation and is named after Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin. Its motto "between business, culture, and politics" reflects the university's multidisciplinary approach in teaching and research. The university has strong regional ties and operates two campuses: the SeeCampus at Seemooser Horn directly on Lake Constance and the ZF Campus at the Fallenbrunnen site, completed in 2015 with the support of ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Study Programs and Courses
Zeppelin University offers bachelor's and master's programs in interdisciplinary fields such as business, social sciences, politics, and culture. Bachelor's programs include Sociology, Politics and Economics (SPE), and Communication, Culture and Management (CCM). Master's programs include specialized programs like the Master in International Relations & Global Politics (IRGP) and the Master in Public Management & Digitalization (PMD). Part-time executive programs, including the Executive Master in Family Entrepreneurship (FESH), expand the range of study programs.

Interdisciplinarity and Internationality
A trademark of ZU is its interdisciplinary approach, introducing students to topics from various fields. Mandatory courses in the early semesters promote a broad foundational knowledge, while semesters abroad at one of the 97 partner universities worldwide, including the University of California, Berkeley, and Sciences Po in France, enhance the international perspective. A special component is the "Humboldt Year," enabling a research year abroad during the bachelor's program.

Research and Student Engagement
The university emphasizes early research experience: bachelor's students develop their research projects in the first year, and during the "Humboldt Year," there are opportunities to conduct sponsored research. Through student initiatives like the debating club "Soapbox" or the start-up center "PioneerPort," engagement and innovation are fostered. ZU also offers over 59 student initiatives that shape the cultural and social life of the students.

Fees and Financing
Tuition fees vary by program, ranging from 4,350 euros to 4,980 euros per semester for bachelor's programs and 4,590 euros to 7,980 euros for master's programs. ZU supports students with a diverse scholarship program, including the Diversity Scholarship and a scholarship for social engagement. Financing options include study loans and the "ZU Educational Fund."
