Merz Akademie

With the Merz Akademie's decided interest in the disciplines of art, design, humanities and technology, the state-recognised university in Stuttgart, which is run as a non-profit institution, places itself between a classic art academy, university of applied sciences and humanities faculty. In the accredited Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes with a focus on cross-media publishing, film and video, visual communication and new media, students combine theory, art and technology in novel ways and, as authors, translate their findings into innovative media projects.

Because the university is relatively small, it can offer an intensive and highly individualised study experience and support. The close contact between teachers and students, the countless opportunities for individual contact, the high level of supervision even outside of teaching and the efforts of all involved to create a communicative, supportive climate are among the Merz Akademie's strengths.
