Are there private universities for studying Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering in English? And how many GCSE subjects do I need to enter a private university? Thank you.
Hi,

please have a look at Constructor University (formerly Jacobs University) in Bremen. This university offers various engineering programs in English and is well-known for its international focus and excellent academic environment.

Regarding Admission Requirements: To be eligible for private universities in Germany, you generally need: Five GCSEs, including Mathematics and Science. Two A-levels (or equivalent higher-level qualifications). Strong grades in Mathematics and Physics are often preferred.

Since the programs are in English, you will need to provide proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, or similar certifications).

For example, to apply for a bachelor's program like Industrial Engineering and Management at Constructor University, you will need to follow a rolling admission process, where applications are reviewed as they are submitted, and admission decisions are typically provided within 2 to 4 weeks. Key deadlines include November 1 for Early Decision (binding), December 1 and February 1 for Early Action I and II (non-binding), and June 1 for international students requiring a visa. For EU/EEA citizens and those from visa-exempt countries, the final deadline is July 15.

The required documents include proof of identity (such as a passport), high school transcripts or report cards, a CV and educational history form, proof of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS), a motivation statement explaining your interest in the program, standardized test scores (e.g., SAT/ACT, if applicable), and a recommendation letter from a teacher, counselor, or mentor.

The application process involves completing your application with these documents, receiving your admission decision within a few weeks, confirming your enrollment by paying the deposit, and attending Orientation Week to settle in before starting your studies.
