Dear Admissions Office,

My name is Rida Amekhchoune, and I am interested in transferring my academic credits to continue and complete my Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration (or similar field).

I previously studied for a Bachelor of Business Administration at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (China) from 2020 to 2024. I have successfully completed all my courses, and I hold an official full transcript in English, stamped and verified by my former university.

However, my official diploma is currently withheld due to a pending HSK 4 Chinese language certificate requirement, which was introduced even though my degree program was fully taught in English and completed online during the pandemic.

Because of this situation, I am now looking for a university that can evaluate my transcript for credit transfer, so that I can continue my studies and obtain my Bachelor’s diploma

Could you please let me know:

The documents required for evaluation

Whether your International Business / Business Administration program accepts such transfers.

I would really appreciate your guidance on how I can proceed with the application.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your reply.

Kind regards,
Rida Amekhchoune
Hi,

In Germany, private universities generally have more flexibility regarding credit transfers and recognition of previous academic achievements compared to public universities. However, each university sets its own policies for evaluating transcripts and accepting transfer students.

1. Required documents: Most universities will ask for the following documents for credit evaluation and admission:

- Your official transcript of records (in English, as you have it)
- Course descriptions or syllabi for all completed courses
- Proof of secondary school completion (e.g. high school diploma)
- Passport or ID
- Sometimes a motivation letter or CV

Since you do not have your official Bachelor’s diploma, it is important to clarify that your transcript shows all completed coursework and grades. Some universities may still consider your application if you can prove you have finished all academic requirements, even if the diploma is withheld for administrative reasons like the HSK certificate.

2. Acceptance of transfers: Many private universities in Germany offer International Business or Business Administration programs and do accept transfer students with previous academic records from abroad. The process is called “Anrechnung von Studienleistungen” (recognition of prior learning/credits). Each university will review your documents individually and decide how many credits can be transferred. If your previous studies closely match their curriculum, you may be able to enter into a higher semester.

3. Next steps:

- Contact the admissions office of the university you are interested in directly. Explain your situation and provide your transcript and an explanation about the missing diploma.
- Ask if they can make a preliminary credit evaluation based on your documents.
- Be prepared for the university to request additional information or documents.
- If you need help finding suitable private universities in Germany, I can recommend specific programs and universities that are open to international transfer students.

If you tell me your preferences (e.g. preferred city, study format, tuition budget), I can suggest some suitable universities and programs for you. Let me know if you would like this support!
