The IU International University is one of the most flexible and cost-effective choices. It offers a wide range of business programs in English, including bachelor's and master's degrees. With options for online, dual, and on-campus study, IU allows you to tailor your education to your personal and professional needs.
Another strong option is the International School of Management (ISM), with campuses in Dortmund, Cologne, and Düsseldorf. ISM provides internationally focused business programs in English, combining academic excellence with practical experience.
The CBS International Business School, located in Cologne and Aachen, specializes in business and management studies. It offers various English-taught bachelor's and master's programs, making it a solid choice for students looking for an international education.
Finally, the FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management has multiple campuses across NRW and provides practice-oriented business programs. While most programs are in German, some are available in English, and the tuition fees are relatively affordable compared to other private universities.

In Germany, most universities require 13 years of education, such as the German Abitur, for direct admission to a bachelor's program. However, some private universities in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) may accept students with 12 years of education, depending on their international qualifications. Many institutions recognize diplomas like A-levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB), or certain national high school diplomas. Some universities offer foundation programs or entrance exams to bridge the gap for students who do not meet the standard requirements. Additionally, if you have relevant work experience or additional qualifications such as the SAT, your chances of direct admission may increase. It is always best to check with the specific university about their admission policies and whether they offer preparatory courses for international students. Would you like help verifying whether your high school diploma qualifies for direct entry into a business program in NRW?
Would you prefer an online or on-campus study program? Let me know your specific requirements so I can help you find the best option!

Hello, Thank you for your reply and guidance,. Yes I am seeking for on campus study. But a little cheap. I have tried to study at IU but couldn't get the place. Rather than IU is there any college which is quite affordable? In NRW only. ISM is quite expensive and CBS too. I have heard that. And is there any funding opportunities here in germany that helps student to study for international non eu student? I have tried to contact KFW it only support to eu students.

Since you are looking for an affordable on-campus business program in NRW and IU was not an option, there are still some alternatives to consider.
One of the more budget-friendly private universities in NRW is FOM University of Applied Sciences (FOM Hochschule). While most of their programs are in German, they do offer some business-related programs in English. FOM is known for relatively lower tuition fees compared to ISM and CBS. Another option could be RFH – Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln, which also offers business-related programs at a more affordable rate.
Regarding funding opportunities for international non-EU students, unfortunately, the KfW student loan is only available to EU students, as you mentioned. However, you may explore other options such as:
- DAAD Scholarships: The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for international students. You can check their database atwww.daad.de.
- Deutschlandstipendium: This is a merit-based scholarship that provides €300 per month, funded by both the government and private sponsors. Some private universities also offer this.
- University-specific scholarships: Some private universities in NRW have their own financial aid programs for outstanding international students, so it’s worth checking directly with them.
- Part-time jobs: As an international student, you can work 120 full days or 240 half days per year in Germany, which can help cover some expenses.
