Details
Our society is subject to constant change: globalization, demographics, mobility or technological innovations – all these developments pose new challenges for people and organisations not only in the non-profit sector.
In this context, the demand for support through coaching, counselling, accompanying measures or assistance that contribute to self-determined action is increasing. Counselling can be described as a cross-sectional task of professionals in social fields of activity, which relates to both individuals and groups. It is individually tailored to the needs of the respective clients/customers and requires a high degree of understanding and empathy. As organisational counselling, it addresses and works on change processes within the respective institution or company. In addition to advisory skills, it requires professional management competences. In the Master’s degree programme in Counselling and Social Management (M.A.), the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) offers a multiple qualification that is particularly sought after on the market: by imparting subject-specific competences in the areas of counselling and social management, business competence, specialist management competence as well as comprehensive personal and social action competences, you are thoroughly prepared for a demanding role in the social economy. Overall, the course contributes to meeting the increasing demand for skilled and management personnel in the social services sector, especially counselling in non-profit organisations. The Master’s programme forms the basis for the further teaching of psychological, socio-pedagogical and social-scientific counselling activities for the development of an ethical counselling attitude. Counselling is understood as a cross-sectional task of educational professionals and managers in the various fields of action within the social economy.
