The part-time master’s degree “Applied Psychology” is aimed at graduates of non-psychology subjects who wish to apply psychological expertise specifically in their professional everyday life. It is particularly targeted at professionals from the fields of economics, social work, pedagogy, educational sciences, public management, as well as employees of emergency organisations such as the police or fire brigade. The study programme is suitable for people who already have work experience and want to prepare for demanding specialist or leadership tasks by deepening their psychological skills. Entry is interesting both for employed persons and for those on their way to leadership positions, for example in educational management, personnel development, consulting, crisis communication or educational work.
What formal criteria apply for admission?
For admission to the Master’s in Applied Psychology you need:
- Completed first degree (at least Bachelor’s)
- Work experience – usually at least one year in a relevant field
- English language skills to be able to understand and work with scientific literature
Alternatively, under certain conditions, access via the master’s entry programme is also possible if no first degree is available and long-term, relevant professional activity is proven. There is no Numerus Clausus (NC). You can start your studies at any time.
For the course you should have an interest in psychological issues and the willingness to work scientifically. Analytical thinking skills, communication ability and openness to different perspectives are helpful, especially in consulting situations or if you want to take on leadership responsibility. Also relevant is the ability to learn independently and flexibly, as distance learning requires self-organisation and perseverance. Which topics and skills does the Master's in Applied Psychology cover?
In the Master's programme Applied Psychology (M.Sc.) at Euro-FH, you develop a broad understanding of psychological processes in everyday life and work. You acquire sound knowledge in key fundamental subjects such as General Psychology, Personality Psychology, and Social Psychology. Additionally, you take a classic psychological application subject – you can choose from:

You build essential action competences through practice-oriented content in communication, coaching, conflict counselling, supervision and mediation. The methods training includes quantitative and qualitative research methods and enables you to conduct and analyse psychological studies and projects.
In the supplementary area, you specifically set your own focus: you choose from a wide range of modules, for example on humanistic approaches, relaxation, health promotion, neuropsychological diagnostics, media education, project management or digitalisation. Additionally, you are trained to plan and reflect on psychological counselling situations and to apply scientific findings practically.

How is the distance learning course organised?
The Master's programme Applied Psychology is designed as a part-time distance study and can be completed flexibly in 24 or 32 months. You decide your own learning pace and can start without fixed deadlines. A free extension of the standard study period by up to 16 months is possible.
The course is based on multimedia learning materials, which you use digitally, printed or as audio. Organisation and communication take place centrally via the online campus. Learning support and supervision are provided by personal tutors as well as the AI learning assistant KILEA.
The examinations can be taken flexibly each month – either online or at one of ten examination centres in Germany. Practical skills and exchange are conveyed in online seminars on 12 to 20 days (depending on optional modules). Additionally, there is a one-time on-site seminar at Euro-FH in Hamburg for deepening special content.

The programme is organised completely online. You study location-independently and flexibly, supported by the Euro-FH online campus. All learning materials and interactive offers are digitally accessible. The online seminars and tutorials form the main part of the synchronous learning phases.
For on-site examinations, you can use one of ten examination centres in Germany; alternatively, you choose flexible online examinations. Only the mandatory on-site seminar takes place on one day at the Hamburg campus. The rest of the study and examination process adapts ideally to your personal life situation.
What costs and financing options should be expected?
The tuition fees for the Master's programme Applied Psychology at Euro-FH amount to a total of €13,024, spread over monthly instalments of €407 for a study duration of 32 months. For the shorter study duration of 24 months, the monthly rates are higher. There are regular promotional discounts through which you can additionally save.
