Admission requirements
The prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree programme (M.Sc.) is a first university degree (180 ECTS) or a professional field-specific qualification through a first degree in an area closely related to the focus of study, such as
- Educational Sciences
- Social Work
- Teaching
- Sociology
- Economics or
- Communication Sciences
In addition, you must have qualified professional experience
of at least one year.

In the M.Sc. Educational Psychology programme, significant elements of the two disciplines education and psychology are closely linked. You can expand your professional expertise with psychological know-how and qualify for a wide range of challenging and responsible activities in the field of educational psychology.
Furthermore, you acquire the ability to adapt your professional competence to rapidly changing requirements and to work scientifically and evidence-based at the level of international standards. As part of the studies, you will learn to develop a critical awareness of important approaches and methods in your future field of activity and will acquire not only specialist skills but also cross-disciplinary knowledge and interdisciplinary competences.
With the completion of this master’s programme, it is possible to professionalise at the interface between psychology and education. This gives you the potential to open up new work and action fields in the area of education, where psychological expertise is required.
For example, you can support the digital transformation and the associated development or redesign of (digital) service offerings and adequately accompany people of all ages. As part of an interdisciplinary team – with or without leadership responsibility – you can contribute to ensuring that learners are supported appropriately to their competences and are prepared for future challenges.
As an educational psychologist, you may have a direct influence on the instructional process and the learning conditions of individuals. Alternatively, you may work at the level of education or institutional policy.
