What Admission Requirements Apply for the Master’s Degree?
You need a first professional university degree (Bachelor’s, Diploma, or equivalent) with at least 180 ECTS credits. The subject area of your studies is not decisive, so career changers also have access. For a three-semester Master’s degree, at least 210 ECTS are required, while with 180 ECTS you can enrol in the four-semester variant. A Numerus Clausus (NC) is not necessary. Additionally, a motivation letter is required, in which you explain your reasons for pursuing the Master’s degree. After the online application, you will take part in a counselling interview with the university.
Personally, you should have a strong interest in current developments in the media sector and in digital communication. Important soft skills include communication skills, the ability to work in a team, and analytical thinking. Experience in media, marketing, or project work is advantageous but not mandatory. How is the course structure of the Master’s in Media and Communication Management organised?
The programme lasts three semesters (a total of 90 ECTS with a preceding Bachelor’s degree with 210 ECTS). Each semester is divided into various content-coordinated modules. The core consists of scientifically based lectures, practice-oriented seminars and extensive project work, in which you collaborate with real companies and media partners. All events take place on campus in person. A special feature of the Master’s programme is the optional Study Week abroad, where you attend selected modules at partner universities in London, Paris or New York and gain international experience.

In addition, a one-time registration fee applies (as per provider information). Macromedia offers various financing options, including BAföG (also for Master’s programmes), the KfW study loan as well as the educational fund from Brain Capital, where you only repay after graduation and upon reaching a certain income threshold.
