Details
The innovative Master’s degree programme Digital Transformation & Sustainability combines for the first time in a business studies course the two future topics digitalisation and sustainability. Rethinking studies! The small study group with a maximum of 17 fellow students is supported mainly through project-based learning by usually two professors and project consultants. Contribution and development of own projects and ideas? This is warmly welcomed in this programme! With this Master’s, which is aligned with the UN’s global goals, graduates qualify to master the challenges of a rapidly changing digital world sustainably – perfect for a career as a change manager, project leader and future executive.
Change needs courageous changemakers
Only those who have the courage to question things and break patterns can move forward. Graduates of this programme become instigators of new thinking and acting with a view of the big picture. Companies and society require shapers of transformation, for example as change agents, transformation managers, project managers or assistants to the CDO / CEO.
Learning to think in networks requires a new teaching philosophy
Project work is a core element of the curriculum. In ever-changing teams, concrete solutions for current topics are developed. By incorporating one’s own questions and a modular elective area, students can help shape their study content.
Agenda 2030 concerns us all
The global community has set itself a clear mandate to develop society sustainably. Many companies now also commit themselves to this. The programme supports the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in its own way. Graduates become ambassadors of sustainable development and thus decision-makers who take on social responsibility.
Two sides of the same coin
Digitalisation must be designed sustainably and sustainability must seize digital opportunities. Future-proof companies are required to position themselves in both topics. Internal barriers must also be overcome in this process. Accordingly, the business studies programme is interdisciplinary in nature.
Doing instead of learning by heart
Exams and frontal teaching have no place in this programme. Instead, students search for answers to the challenges of the 21st century in small study groups. Lecturers are not mere knowledge transmitters but accompany each individual’s learning development as coaches.
Study organisation and structure
As part of the part-time Master’s degree programme Digital Transformation & Sustainability at HSBA, 120 ECTS must be earned, which are divided into core modules as well as five semester projects and an elective compulsory area. The programme concludes with the Master’s thesis. Teaching takes place twice a week on two face-to-face days per semester and during some full-time weeks.
