The academic years each start on 1 October. Here you can view the list of companies that cooperate with us for the dual study programme. As a first step, you apply to one of these companies. If you convincingly demonstrate what you are capable of there, you will receive an offer and DHSH will check the admission.

However, you are also welcome to take the initiative yourself and apply to a company that is not yet on our list. DHSH will then check based on the training plan whether the company meets the necessary quality criteria and thus becomes a cooperation partner.

Do you enjoy working on the PC and is programming and designing websites your thing? Are you interested in economic contexts? Then prepare yourself broadly with a degree in Business Informatics (Bachelor of Science) and become an expert in the field of computer science at the same time!

With us, it’s not about learning theory backwards and forwards for three years. In the dual degree programme in Business Informatics, theory blocks alternate with practical phases at your employer. So you get involved right from the start and apply what you’ve learned directly.

Business Informatics is an interdisciplinary field that connects computer science, economics, and especially business administration. Business informatics specialists possess not only technical and analytical skills but also excellent communication and project management abilities.

In addition to the bachelor's degree, you can also obtain a professional qualification and trainer certification during the three years at DHSH. For students of Business Informatics, the apprenticeships for Digitalisation Management Clerks, Informatics Clerks (IHK), as well as for IT Specialists (IHK) in the four specialisations of System Integration, Application Development, Data and Process Analysis, and Digital Networking are available. The examination before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) takes place after 2.5 years.

After successfully completing a dual degree in Business Informatics, you will take on challenging tasks in a company as an innovator. The diverse scope of assignments includes, for example, software development, data science, IT consulting, e-business, as well as project management in (IT) projects.

Many paths are open to you: your ability to produce scientifically sound analyses and practice-oriented solutions equally efficiently are sought-after skills in the job market. Employers from a wide range of economic sectors such as trade, energy supply, banks and insurance, health and social services, and of course information and telecommunications primarily look for qualified business informatics specialists.

The bachelor's degree course in Business Informatics is offered at the Kiel campus. If you do not live in Kiel and the surrounding area, you can rent a room in one of our guesthouses.

The study content of the first semesters consists of compulsory modules. Besides business, social and mathematical fundamentals, you will delve into areas of (business) informatics such as software development, data science, and data management. In total, you work on three practical projects spanning several semesters.

In the fifth and sixth semesters, various elective compulsory modules are available, of which four modules must be taken.
