Living Better for Longer. Gerontology, Health & Care Makes It Possible.

The population in Germany is getting older. Demographic change is transforming society and the labour market. Professionals are needed who understand the needs of older people so that they can actively participate in life. This creates new fields of work: Gerontologists have a systematic view of the living conditions of older people. They can support them in all situations.
In the study programme Gerontology, Health & Care, students learn specialised knowledge in the areas of nursing, psychology, sociology, law and education. Graduates become experts in old age.
Gerontologists are needed and employed in senior facilities, social counselling, neighbourhood management or municipal social planning. They are also sought after in the travel industry or in alternative options for outpatient and home care.
