For both variants, a first degree from a state-recognized or state university is required, such as a Bachelor's or Master's. Your degree should have at least a grade of "Satisfactory."
Additionally, for the 90-ECTS variant, the following is required:
- Your first degree should have a focus on Industrial Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Technical Business Administration, Industrial Management, Business Informatics, or Engineering Management).
- If your first degree is 210 ECTS or more, you can be enrolled in the Master's program in Industrial Engineering immediately.
- If your first degree is 180 ECTS, you need to take courses of at least 30 ECTS or have at least 1 year of qualified work experience.
For the 120-ECTS variant, the following is required as well:
- Your first degree should have a focus on Industrial Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Technical Business Administration, Industrial Management, Business Informatics, or Engineering Management).
- If your first degree does not have the required focus, you must pass a Master's entrance examination. If you pass, you will be enrolled in the Master's in Industrial Engineering.
Furthermore, you can have prior achievements recognized in order to shorten your study time in distance learning and save on tuition fees. Recognized achievements may include credits earned in previous Master's programs. The university may also recognize extensive work experience in the field of Industrial Engineering. It's best to submit your recognition request along with your application.

You can extend the standard study time by up to 2 semesters at no additional cost. Full-time study in Business Engineering is particularly suitable for those who are not employed or work only a few hours per week.
- In part-time study I, the standard study time is 4 semesters for the 90-ECTS variant and 6 semesters for the 120-ECTS variant.
