These are the requirements for the Bachelor of Civil Engineering

With your Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, you can work, for example, in the planning or construction, project management, or site management of construction projects, and you are prepared for future topics around infrastructure projects and sustainability.

You can be admitted to the private Bachelor's programme in Civil Engineering at IU International University if you have either a high school diploma (general higher education entrance qualification), a technical college entrance qualification, or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification.

In addition, you can also study Civil Engineering without a high school diploma. To be admitted to the IU programme without a high school diploma, you must present a completed advanced vocational training, such as a qualification as a certified business economist or a certification as a master craftsman. You can also be admitted if you have completed a vocational training and have worked full-time for at least 3 years following this training.

This Bachelor's degree at IU comprises approximately 32 modules, which you will take and complete over the course of 6 semesters of standard study time. Each module is worth 5-10 credit points (ECTS) and concludes with an examination performance such as a term paper or an exam. In total, you will accumulate 180 credit points from module to module and from semester to semester.

This is how the myStudium Civil Engineering programme at IU works

The myStudium at IU International University is a flexible hybrid programme that combines traditional campus life with self-study phases at home.

Accompanying events take place on-site 2-3 days per week. Alternatively, participants can attend the events via the IU Virtual Campus.

Through the online portal and the Learn App of IU, students have access to study materials, presentations, and videos for the modules in Civil Engineering at all times.

The semester is divided into 2 parts, allowing you to take 3 modules per quarter and complete an exam preparation phase. Modules in Civil Engineering, for example, are completed with an exam or a term paper.

The hybrid Civil Engineering programme is currently offered by the university in cities such as Augsburg, Bonn, Bremen, Dresden, Duisburg, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Mainz, Münster, and Nuremberg.

On campus, for instance, you attend your accompanying events. In the lounge area, you can interact with your fellow students. Depending on the city, you can also use the canteens, cafeterias, and libraries of other universities - like at the Berlin location.

Studying Civil Engineering at the IU Virtual Campus

If there is no IU campus near you or if you prefer to learn flexibly and digitally, you can also enroll at the so-called IU Virtual Campus.

At the Virtual Campus, you can, for example, attend your accompanying events in Civil Engineering through regular video conferences together with your fellow students and lecturers.

Through IU's learning platform myCampus, you have access to study scripts and the virtual library. Using IU's LearnApp, you can also work through your scripts digitally on your tablet.
