The Bachelor's degree program in Online and Social Media Marketing (B.A.) is offered through distance learning and can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis, as well as in a dual study variant, also available in full-time and part-time.
In the program portfolio of the European Fernhochschule Hamburg (hereinafter Euro-FH), which currently offers 21 Bachelor's and 19 Master's programs, this program expands the range by adding a marketing-related course in the field of online and social media. Students acquire knowledge and skills in basic business administration, management, marketing, and communication science subjects, supplemented by in-depth content on relevant digital marketing channels and the specifics of digital communication. As optional areas of specialization, students choose two out of the three available elective focuses: Digital Branding and Nudging, User Experience and Consumer Research, as well as Digital Commerce and Management.
In addition to study booklets, the program includes an in-person or virtual seminar (optional), two online seminars, eleven webinars, as well as various digital components (e.g. instructional videos, online tutorials) and learning opportunities via smartphone. The target group includes individuals seeking an academically and practically oriented preparation for entry into or advancement in the field of Online and Social Media Marketing.
For those who aim for an even tighter integration of theory and practice, and can demonstrate a suitable practical company with a supervisor during the admission process, Euro-FH offers a dual variant of the program. This option enables a direct integration of the scientific knowledge and skills acquired during the study (theory) with practical work activities (practice).
The focus of the dual study variant lies in connecting university studies with practical work experience. Through the creation of practice reflections, students in the dual study variant are required to document the activities performed in the practical company and demonstrate the achievement of learning goals through corresponding practical reflective experiences.
The program provides both fundamental business and management basics as well as content and competencies in core marketing and communication science subjects. The specialization options allow students to individually deepen their knowledge in selected thematic areas.
