These are the requirements for the Master's in Personnel Development

With your Master's in Personnel Development, you can work, for example, as a personnel developer, as a consultant in personnel development, or as an organizational developer.

The IU International University offers the Master's in Personnel Development in 2 variants: the 60-ECTS variant lasts 2 semesters in full-time study, and the 120-ECTS variant lasts 4 semesters in full-time study.

For both variants, a first degree from a state-recognized or public university is required, such as a bachelor's or master's degree. The final grade of your degree should be at least 'Satisfactory'.

For the 60-ECTS variant, the following is also required:

  • If your first degree is 240 ECTS and you can demonstrate at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll directly in the Master's program.
  • If your first degree is 210 ECTS and you can demonstrate at least 1 year of qualified work experience, you can enroll directly in the Personnel Development Master's program.
  • If your first degree is 180 ECTS, you take courses totaling at least 30 ECTS and demonstrate additional work experience of at least 1 year. Alternatively, you demonstrate at least 2 years of qualified work experience.

For the 120-ECTS variant, the following is also required:

  • Your first degree should focus on business administration, psychology, or education (with a focus on adult education, business education, or counseling).
  • If your first degree does not have a relevant focus, you must pass a master's admission exam. If you pass this exam, you will be enrolled in the Master's in Personnel Development.

Furthermore, you can have prior achievements recognized to shorten your study time in distance learning and save on tuition fees. Recognized achievements may include coursework completed in previous master's programs. The university may also recognize extensive work experience in the field of personnel development. It is best to submit your recognition request along with your application.
